Out On Film 2025
“Queer Propaganda”
Queer Propaganda was chosen as the 2025 Out On Film theme as a bold, tongue-in-cheek reclamation of language historically used to undermine and demonize queer existence. Rather than distancing ourselves from the accusation, the theme leaned into it by framing queer joy, visibility, storytelling, and community as something powerful, intentional, and worth broadcasting. Aesthetically, the campaign drew from the visual language of protest posters, zines, agitprop, and underground print culture. It blended high-contrast color, graphic typography, and layered textures to evoke urgency and collective action. The result was a cohesive visual system that felt unapologetic, confrontational, and celebratory, turning so-called “propaganda” into a declaration of pride, resistance, and queer truth.
Role: Creative Direction, Campaign Identity, Graphic Design, Art Direction
Developed the campaign across print, digital, social, environmental, merchandise and on-screen applications. I also provided art direction for the festival program guide, developing templates and visual assets and working with the publication designer to translate the campaign identity across the guide.
